Project Statement
This project was meant to go through the variety of female visual language, with a focus on the relationship between the female form, geography, and culture. The female silhouette is presented as a metaphorical map, where different regions are represented through differences in textiles, colors, and patterns. This variety is a result of geographical differences in climate, which determine clothing material, such as cotton in hotter regions and thicker clothing in colder regions. On the other hand, clothing represents culture, which is a result of heritage, material, and practice. The combination of these features in a single entity represents how the female form shows multiple regional identities, going from a single representation of femininity and embracing its variety, adaptability, and closeness to culture and place.

Self reflection
The process of completing this project involved distilling a wide conceptual idea into a specific visual representation. The first challenge in completing this project involved understanding how to connect body, geography, and cultural identity. The idea of cultural identity felt very abstract. Focusing on the idea of India helped in narrowing the idea to create a more specific direction for the project.

The process of completing the visual representation for the poster involved experimenting with different textures, colors, and composition to ensure that the idea of cultural identity is successfully represented. The biggest challenge involved in completing this project involved balancing different visual elements without making the composition look cluttered. The composition of the visual representation helped in clarifying the idea for the viewer. The most significant thing I learned from completing this project involved understanding how to successfully approach a conceptual idea. I also learned more about visual elements such as fabric, colors, and composition in communicating cultural identity. I also learned how to use Photoshop more successfully. I learned how to successfully distill a visual idea from a concept.
